  • 1.  Error Installing Cognos 11.1.7 Fix Pack 5

    When installing the zip file casrv-11.1.7-2205311318-winx64h for Cognos 11.1.7 FP 5, I get the following error. 




    The following is the error message visible at the end of the log file. 



    I have tried to redownload the zip file and tried changing the security settings for the install folder. Neither option seemed to fix the issue. Is this due to a corrupt zip file, or another issue?

    When I tried to unzip the file to test it, I was given an error message. I am able to unzip the older casrv file on the server. I used the zipped version for the install.

    Hi Elizabeth - Just to be clear, are you using the Installer exe specific for 11.1.7 FP5?

    I installed 11.1.7 FP5 a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues.

    I just unzipped it using 7-zip and it unzipped without issue.

    My guess is something is corrupting the zip file.  How big is the file?  Mine is:


    Size:                 5.28 GB (5,679,196,626 bytes)
    Size on disk:    5.28 GB (5,679,198,208 bytes)

    Maybe try a different browser or delete the file and clear your browser cache & cookies.  It's also possible IBM is having network/server issues and terminating your download before it's completed.  Also maybe your antivirus is messing with it?
