How to enable CBR for an existing Doc Class, to index both existing and new documents?

  • 1.  How to enable CBR for an existing Doc Class, to index both existing and new documents?

    Hi everyone,

we need to enable CBR for an existing Document Class.

Index Area and rest of the configuration is done.

    1. I know enabling CBR for the Doc Class will handle only new documents.

    2. I can also right click on Class and select "Index class for Content Search". I assume this will flag all existing documents for indexing and create an Index job.

The question is: I do both actions 1 and 2? Do I need to finish with 2. and then perform action 1.?

    Any ideas welcome.

    BR

    Hi Christos,

IBM documentation is pretty good in outlining what is required. Assuming both classes are in the same object store and your CSS index area defined you can A) Enable CSS on parent class and let it propagate or B) Enable CSS on class you want. That will enable the class for CSS, but then you need to right click the class(es) and re-index which triggers the CSS update. This two step action is the same when removing CSS from a class you disable it then have to reindex to affect the changes.
