Regarding question 1, I believe the use of <> brackets aims to underscore the variable name. Nevertheless, it does come across as needlessly confusing.
Turning to question 10, it seems there's a discrepancy. The course mentions file systems as essential fields but suggests they can operate without intervention. On the face of it, the question seems accurate because the file system isn't obligatory... Still, I agree that it's unnecessarily confusing.
