I generally end up needing a workflow connection point in both (although I try to only have one workflow system/isolated region for all my IER related stuff). You often want to be able to use workflows to both declare records (an action that starts in the ROS and so you need a connection point there) and approve disposition (an action that starts in the FPOS and so you need a connection point there). I honestly can't remember which one configmgr is trying to use, but that's mostly b/c I always create both before installing and the dropdown just populates.

Dear Gene,
Very Thanks for the reply,
Can you please help me understand. in which object store i have to create the workflow connection point. which we will use in the configuration manager for IER.
and what happens when i run the tasks "Configure Workflows" and "Transfer Workflows". I'm really confused about these thing.
when i create the basic disposition sweep, it will trigger the workflow. - now i have to add the work feature in IER Desktop (which have File Plans) or in Records Enable Object Store desktop the one with the declare option.
with some logical thinking i thought of creating the connection point in FPOS.
Thanks,
Siraj Shaik.

Hi Shaik,
The Records Object Store (ROS) is your object store(s) that houses your documents. The File Plan Object Store (FPOS) houses your file plan and will contain the linked records once they are declared. To records-enable the ROS object store, you have to run the object store add-on that ships with IER. You run that add-on on any ROS that you want to records enable. As far as security on the FPOS, you have to make sure you run the security script wizard. This is accessible to you when you log on to the IER-enabled desktop the first time. The user you are running the script as must be in the Records Administrators logical group. I hope this helps!
