Hi, FlashSystem hyperswap volumes can not be mapped to svc, multiple io group and so in, as many others have said svc must be mapped to the scsi WWPNs in fs9500, otherwise it won't work. For fs9500 the svc is just another Linux host ------------------------------ ROGER ERIKSSON --- ...

Hi, It's also a question what the expectations are. And what host types they use. A good start point is to check the redbook for migrations, https://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg248470.html?Open ------------- Roger Eriksson IBM Partner Technical Specialist Storage IBM Sweden, Kistagången 6, 16492 ...

this is from the Redbook, as you can see it states that each SSD is capable of 20000 iops, and probably an FCM is capable of 30000 or more, that makes these calculations in most cases irrelevant nowadays ------------------------------ ROGER ERIKSSON ------------------------------

Hi, I dont know of the competitors, but our Master inventor Barry Whyte told, that its pointless to scale above 24x NVMe drives as the rest of the box cant utilize their fully performance, if capacity you are after then scale with SAS enclosures and SSD and use Easy Tier to get the hottest data onto ...

It’s impossible to know, it all depends on the data you dem at it. To have an idea ibm have a tool to run on your servers to estimate how much you will get, tool is called comprestimator (google for it), that is for compression. If you wanna test how much dedup you will also get, use another tool ...

Hi, we have done some test 1. make sure the host HBA have NVMe protocol enabled in its firmware, might even need an update of firmware 2. most likely you will not see any huge difference in performance between NVMe and SCSI protocol on the IBM FlashSystem, as speed of light is speed of light. 3. The ...
