  • 1.  Guardium GUI not accessible after v11.3 GPU upgrade

    Hello all,
    I have upgraded my v11.0 collector system to v11.3 using p300 GPU. Patch installation is successful and machine is restarted but now I am not able to access web GUI. Can anyone help what to do next to bring back the GUI?

    We had some issues where the network settings were lost. 

    From your CLI, check you network settings:
    show network interface all
    show network route default
    show network resolver

    If they were lost, store correct values and restart. 

    The bug number is GA17508.

    Assuming that you attempted restarts to no avail (restart stopped services, restart gui, etc). Can you get to the fileserver?  There are some logs you can look at for some clues, like messages and patch install.  Otherwise a webex with support seems like the best bet.

    I have started fileserver from cli session but I am not able to access it on web GUI. Also, I am not able to get a remote SSH session on this server. May be there is a bug in this p300 upgrade.

    I have also seen this problem with a few appliance upgrades with p300. Just store the network settings again and restart.


    store network interface ip <ip>
    store network route defaultroute <ip>
    store network resolver <ip>
    restart network

    Hi Abdul,

    That seems you've hit a bug with v11.3 where it gets set to DHCP and network settings get changed. There is a patch you could have applied to the previous version prior to v11.3 upgrade to prevent that.

    However, since you've already completed the upgrade, you just need to follow the steps our colleagues provided above to set back the values for your network settings back to the values prior to the upgrade and you should be able to re-instantiate your appliance back.

    We had something similar but it was not all GUI, only portions of GUI.  I worked with IBM to have p301 created to resolve the issue.  It had to do with which internet browser was used.  Also restart GUI.  Otherwise follow what Jody recommended.
