Shane Weeden is a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM, leading worldwide technical architecture for Access Management. Joining IBM in 2000 as part of IBM's first Security acquisition, Shane has worked in both standards and product development roles across a wide variety of federation and access management technologies for more than 20 years. A strong customer advocate, Shane prides himself on providing practical advice for customers using IBM's identity and access management technologies, and is a regular author of technical articles supporting scenarios for IBM's customers. Shane is deeply passionate about making the internet a safer place to operate, and has led IBM's technical implementation of the FIDO2 standards, as well as being an active contributor to the w3c Web Authentication standard, exposing FIDO2 authentication to browsers. Shane is also a master inventor at IBM with 17 filed patents in security technologies.
