Over the years, I've had many different roles within IBM. I worked in Digital Sales and Online Commerce before joining Security. I have been a part of IBM Security for the past 5 years. I am a sales leader within the Security Expert Labs team, and our singular mission is client success with IBM Security Software products. We ensure Security SW is properly deployed and highly optimized. I am proud to help IBM's largest clients protect their most important data and maintain identity and access controls.

As a member of the Security Expert Labs team, I work to encourage clients to recognize that it’s ok – and often very beneficial – to ask for help. I’d like to share one of my recent experiences that shows the kind of support and product expertise our clients can take advantage of.

Not long ago I worked with a client whose recent acquisitions had added complexity to the company’s monitoring requirements. The client needed to deploy Guardium Data Protection on an estimated 6000 host systems across 4 US-based data centers.

Although the client team had Guardium skills, they realized that the advanced skills of Security Expert Labs would add value to the success of their project.

The Guardium Expert Labs team spent a lot of time getting to know the client, understanding their needs, business processes and priorities. First and foremost, we asked questions. We went through the solution in depth. We went through the implementation approach at length. We made ourselves available throughout the process for questions.

I’m very pleased to say the client was impressed with our level of commitment and effort to understand their business goals and project requirements. We led several project scoping and solution discussions, which were key to the client’s gaining confidence in our knowledge, experience, and approach to helping them be successful.

In the end, the Guardium Expert Labs team created a project plan with a detailed work break down (WBS) structure. We also architected and designed the Guardium Data Activity Monitoring (DAM) and assisted with the deployment.

This is just one example of the many instances in which the Security Expert Labs team has come on board to help clients solve their challenges and achieve maximum benefit from their IBM Security solutions.
