Note that hot folder are scanned by the windows service named "AsperaSync", typically running with user "svcAspera" (check using
services.msc
)
So, make sure that the scanned folder is visible by that user.
For example, start a CMD with that user:
start /user:svcAspera cmd
If it is not visible that's the condition to fix.

Subject: Aspera client hot folder functionality not working - destination is a storage connected via SMBv3
We connect to an Aspera Server hosted by our vendor. We use Aspera Client to upload/download content to/from this server.
On our end, the destination for the downloads is either a storage connected via iSCSI or a storage connected via SMBv3
We have no issues with downloading content to the storage connected via iSCSI using Hot Folders.
When we use hot folders for the storage connected via SMBv3, we get the error "Init hot folder failed: The system cannot find the path specified."
We are able to "drag and drop" the files from the server to the smbv3 storage without any issues.
We have mapped the destination so it can be browsed from the File Explorer as well as the Aspera client.
