    Hello,

I tried to upgrade APIC VMWARE 10.0.5.4 to 10.0.5.5 with installed 10.0.5.5 version of apicup and the project created earlier with 10.0.5.4, I got the following error:

    apicup subsys install mgmt  upgrade_management_10.0.5.5.tgz
Error: Unable to determine the version of the server being upgraded.

What would I do to get rid of the error?

    Details:

    1. The APIC is the new version

    APIConnect 10.0.5.5
    Installer 9.0.0

    2. apicops version:pre-upgrade show no error

    Hi Frank,

    Please check your apicup version.
apicup could still be pointing to 10.0.5.4 but when you upgrade to 10.0.5.5 you will need apicup_10.0.5.5 version. Also try health-check before upgrade, if you see any issue there

    apicup version

    apicup subsys health-check mgmt

Did you check the version of apicup before running the upgrade? Backup the version 10.0.5.4 and keep one version in the current directory.

    Thanks
    Chander.

    Hi Nick...

Please let me know how this issue is fixed. I am facing the same issue while upgrading Developoer portal from 10.0.5.5 to 10.0.5.6. I have verified the apicup version and it is 10.0.5.6. I also have only one version of apicup in my project directory.

    Ashok,

SSH into the appliance and run `apic status`. Make sure "Install stage" and "Upgrade stage" show DONE (or not reporting errors).

Thanks Sila for your suggestions. The issue turned out to be that 9178 port firewall is lost between deployment and the portal VMs. It worked post fixing firewall policy
