Expanding on our ongoing series, "Making life easy with IBM Aspera on Cloud," we're addressing additional topics and their solutions.

In this series, we will take a selection of the most commonly asked customer questions and explain how to resolve them with some simple guidance.

1. How to increase performance

If you're experiencing sluggish loading times in the Files app due to numerous folders and files, particularly on the "All Files" page, consider implementing the following resolution strategies.

All Files

To increase performance, enable file pagination. This can be done by creating a configuration policy.

  • Login to Aspera on Cloud and click on the right-side grid of dots called App switcher.
    App switcher
  • Select the Admin app from this menu
    Admin App
  • Go to Admin App > Nodes and Storage > Configuration policies.
If a configuration policy is not already attached to the Node. Create one and enable storage paginated browsing.
Note: sorting will only happen on the paginated batch.
    Configuration policies
  • Attach the newly created or existing modified configuration policy to the Node.

  • See the paginated result.

2. Have you forgotten /misplaced your secret key password to the node?

Here's the procedure to recover it:

  • First, create a ticket at https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/
  • Our DevOps team lead will provide their email address.
  • Temporarily add this email address as a member of any workspace.
  • The team lead will then send you the key password in encrypted form, packaged as a file.
  • You can download and decrypt the file using your access key passphrase.

3. Are your customers not getting email notification of files shared from Files App?

If it is a tethered node you need to check if the daemons are up and running. Specifically, AEJD. To test for a daemon issue, first send an email then restart AEJD and then send the email again. If it is not a tethered node, raise a ticket at https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/
