  • 1.  MaaS360 notifications for new mail not showing new badges

    Hi there,

    We have a user with iPhone 11 pro and MaaS360 app has stopped working and it is not able to get badges when new mail comes in. I privately wrote to Matt Shaver but i guess my message did not go through. 

    We have tried removing MaaS360 app via selective wipe and add it back. we have checked all notification settings in app and in iPhone settings and nothing has changed. We also checked Date/Time sync and it is working. We cannot figure out if this is since updated to latest MaaS360  or IOS 14. The only thing we have not checked is Background App refresh which should not have changed. We had a second user that had the same problem but we were able to solve the problem by doing all updates for IOS and MaaS360. 

    If you have any ideas please let me know.

    Hi Yasmiell,

    Does the mail update when MaaS360 is opened?

    If it doesn't update while MaaS360 is closed, but updates when you open MaaS360, the cause is likely that the Background App refresh for MaaS360 is turned off.

    Hi Daniel,

    Thank you for your answer. I was  also hoping that the Background App Refresh was the culprit but it is already on. Seems like this badge issue comes and goes as it pleases.

    We have now 2 users reporting the same problem. Background App Refresh is on.

    I encountered this problem earlier than on the iPhone 11 and iOS14, but I also didn't reveal the cause. I also thought it was disabling the background update, but there was no problem with this setting.

    The problem described was only for some users.

    I would open a ticket with our support teams so that we can review the environments (can't collect sensitive info via the forums).

    1) Send an email to a device to recreate the issue.  Note the time and date stamp. 
    2) Once the email comes through on the device get the logs (the user can email them from the agent)
    3) If CE is being utilized, also get the CE logs from the server (We can upload them remotely if you don't have access).
    4) In the case - include the email address of the sender, the time/date that the email was sent and received, and the corresponding logs.
