By Barbara Saltzman posted Tue June 25, 2019 06:39 PM

With the 2Q19 (June) releases, IBM i2 continues to help accelerate analysis and intelligence production, including improved data fusion and geospatial capabilities, a new SQL deployment option and numerous usability enhancements.

General availability is June 27, 2019:

  • IBM i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis 2.3.0
  • IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook 9.2.0
  • IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium 9.2.0
  • IBM i2 Analyze 4.3.0
  • IBM i2 Chart Reader 9.2.0

2Q19 release highlights include the following portfolio enhancements:

  • Fusion: Ability for i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis (and i2 Analyze) users to fuse duplicate information at the chart level from multiple data sources. The "find matching records" capability makes fused, analysis-ready data available quicker so that analysts can spend more time on analysis and less on data management. Shareable rules grant speed and consistency to chart fusion across the organization.
  • SQL: Ability to deploy i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis (and i2 Analyze) on Microsoft SQL Server 2017, Standard and Enterprise editions, to offer an additional deployment option and greater flexibility. It is in addition to the existing deployment option using IBM Db2.
  • Geospatial: Capability in i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis (and i2 Analyze) to let users leverage information store data for geospatial analysis and understand the "where" in the intelligence lifecycle. The information store now supports storing coordinate data and provides an application programming interface (API) to create an integration with various third-party GIS applications, enabling spatial queries over geo-referenced data.
  • Usability: Numerous usability enhancements for i2 Analyst’s Notebook, i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium and i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis users as outlined below.

i2 Analyst’s Notebook 9.2.0:

  • New, optional auto-archive function can create an archive copy of a chart each time it is saved, providing versioning of charts for more effective file management and ability to easily retrieve earlier versions.
  • Greater flexibility when importing with new column split option for the import column actions page and the ability to copy/paste actions across columns, allowing actions to be easily re-used.
  • Improved chart interactions: 1) multiple selected entities can be arranged vertically or horizontally on chart, 2) new analysis attribute added - Display Icon File, and 3) the page boundaries display tool is now available from the publish ribbon tool bar.
  • Font shading and size options can now be set as part of the conditional formatting function and can be used in combination with icon enlargement and shading for improved chart clarity.
  • Compatible with IBM i2 iBridge V8.9.1. Note: i2 Bridge is not supported with i2 Analyst’s Notebook releases 9.0.7 through 9.1.1.

i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium 9.2.0:

  • Usability enhancements as in i2 Analyst’s Notebook 9.2.0.
  • Support for specification rename in the live formatting dialog.
  • Fusion of duplicate items on the chart surface, as described above for i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis.

 i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis 2.3.0:

  • Usability enhancements as in i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium 9.2.0.
