Real World (and Out of this World) AI

 View Only
When:  Nov 6, 2019 from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM (ET)
Join us for some Real World examples of AI at work for the better good of humanity. Topics range from reducing food waste to assisting astronauts in Space.

As Canadians, every day we waste a total of 2.4M potatoes, 1.2M tomatoes, 1.2M apples, and many more. More than half of all food produced in Canada is lost or wasted. This totals to an equivalent to 9.8 million tons of CO2 or 2.1 million cars on the road (~10% of cars in Canada).

At the International Space Station (ISS), astronauts have been introduced to CIMON the first ever AI robot in Space. CIMON can assist astronauts in day-to-day activities, especially in conducting scientific research, as well as providing emotional interactions in what can otherwise be a very isolating experience.
