Subject: SPSS Statistics does not open beyond login
Hey, @Dawid Dwyer
I am currently using the 30th version of SPSS but I'm not able to log into my account. After filling password when I click on login the screen goes white and freezes there, I have tried every resort available over IBM support and the community but still the issue persists. I even tried turning off my firewall completely but still nothing happened. Please help me out as soon as possible.
Thank you

Hi @Sarthak Jain,
Your SPSS Statistics splash screen indicates you have Statistics 29.0.2.0 installed. That is the latest release and does not require the 'ibmidlic.jar' to be replaced. Whatever version of 'ibmidlic.jar' you are trying to install to this release, is probably the wrong one.
You still seems to be having the blank white IBMid login screen. One thought: IBM SPSS Statistics 28.x.x.x and 29.x.x.x install to the same directory structure. so if you've updated your installation of IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription recently, perhaps the update was not completed successfully and you now have a mix of Statistics version 29.0.2.0 and Statistics version < 29.0 files in your installation directory. I would counsel a complete and clean uninstall of everything IBM SPSS Statistics. Follow that with a new install of 29.0.2.0:
For Windows:
- Uninstall the product via the Windows Control Panel
- Delete the SPSS Statistics installation directory ('C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics') if it still exists after you uninstall.
- Delete the '%APPDATA%\IBM\SPSS Statistics' directory.
- Delete the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\com\ibm\/S/P/S/S\/Statistics' registry.
- Perform a fresh install of Statistics 29.0.2.0.
For MacOS:
- Follow the instructions in https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/script-completely-remove-uninstall-spss-statistics-macos
- Perform a fresh install of Statistics 29.0.2.0.
You might want to check https://myibm.ibm.com/Dashboard and be sure to de-activate all currently in use devices. Force Statistics Subscription to re-activate itself from your current device.
Beyond this, check your firewalling and local security situation. If you have an application blocking the 'jcef_helper.exe' application, that is the executable which drives the IBMid Subscription login. This is detailed in the earlier referenced blog and in the various attached technotes and Known Issues that might explain the root cause for your specific issue.

For all in this thread,
There are several common reasons for IBM SPSS Statistics Classic|Subscription|Trial to fail to launch.
Most have to do with your computing environment:
- OS (Is it Supported?)
- Firewalls and networking (Is something vital being blocked?)
- The version of Statistics you have installed (29.0.2.0 (20) is the current release. If your splash screen tells you something else, get 29.0.2.0).
Please see my blog post and rule out each of the potential cause there.
If you do not have IBM SPSS statistics version 29.0.2.0 (20) and cannot get it, please see this Flash Alert. You likely will need to apply an Interim Fix... but cleanly installing the latest release is the best approach.

Hello, sorry to hear you're running into problems with the trial version of Statistics. We are working to try and reproduce this issue in-house, as it does not occur for all trials. We have filed issue #7662 for this, a high priority issue. Any additional information about your environment that you can provide will be helpful and we will add that information to the report.

Subject: SPSS Statistics does not open beyond login
Hello!
I have been trying to open SPSS Statistics (Trial version) since Tuesday with no luck. Here is how each attempt goes:
- I open the application and am met with 2 options - 1, Login with IBM ID / 2, Launch License Wizard
- I click option 1
- Log in - I know the credentials are right since I copy the same email address use for the website, and when I get my password wrong it lets me know
- Loading screen for a few seconds ('Verifying...' / 'Please wait...' etc.)
- The application closes with no error message nor indication as to what went wrong
I have un/reinstalled the application many times now, redownloaded the .exe file from the website, and made sure to run the installer as an administrator (following the advice of online resources) but still have no luck...
My 30-day trial started on Tuesday so there is no reason that the problem will be related to that, as far as I'm aware
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Mollie
