I had similar problems in a recent project, but it turned out to be a timing problem rather than a limit on the file size. The file was first located on a server in the network, but when I moved it to the hard drive on my desktop computer, everything worked as intended. Well, everything took time, the file had 127M cases. But it worked. What is your setup, do you have the files on your local hard drive already?

Subject: Records vanish on frequency analysis
SPSS v 29.0.1.1 (244)
Hello, I have a NIS dataset with 41M cases and over 12GB in size. When I run a frequency analysis it finishes around 20M records. If I do save as after this happens the dataset is truncated to some 20M cases. Is there a practical limit to the number of records or file size with SPSS. If I restart the program, I can run the frequency a couple of times and then it happens again. Is this a know issue? Do I need to tweak SPSS program parameters?
Thanks
