Hey,
The first step to answering both of these questions is to do some analysis of your existing applications
IBM has a tool called Transformation Advisor that will do this analysis for you. It is available as a free trial for 90 days, and if you have WebSphere Hybrid Edition you will already have full entitlement
Transformation Advisor will tell you exactly what changes (if any) are required to run your application on WebSphere Liberty
This video provides an overview of Transformation Advisor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF24sHHKrnY&t=7s
It will also analyse your existing WasND clusters and provide some options
If you have the OpenShift platform available you can find the install instructions here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cta?topic=started-install-ocp
If you do not have OpenShift then you can find install instructions here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cta?topic=started-non-ocp-install
Thanks,
Paul

Subject: Application runtime modernization from tWAS to WebSphere Liberty- some questions
Hi,
If we are to perform application runtime modernization where traditional WebSphere Application Server ND cluster a Dmgr with, let's say, four other nodes is being replaced by WebSphere Liberty.
- Would a cluster and its node would be replaced by Liberty Collective servers OR four standalone WebSphere Liberty runtime?
- Would applications that are using all the components or Full Profile in tWAS, be able to run on WebSphere Liberty? How?
