Brocade社製のSAN Switchを導入する時に、Fill wordの設定は必要なんですか？という質問がたまにあります。 Fill wordというのは、デバイス間でフレームの転送が行われていない間に送られる信号のことです。 Fill word値を設定すると、リンクの初期化やフレーム転送がない場合に、設定した信号が送られることになります。 結論から言うと、Brocade 8GbpsのSwitchのみ設定が推奨されます。16Gbps以降のスイッチでは設定不要です(設定できず自動で設定されます)。 設定が求められる型番としては以下になります。 ...
