Thanks for the reply. I saw the supported version level but thought I would give installation a try and see if I could make it work on my current OS. It looks like it will not, so I will switch to a supported OS version.

If you are looking at the table on the page you referenced, that's for the backup archive client. The server requirements are linked off the top of that page to https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-spectrum-protect-8118-server-requirements-and-support-linux-x8664
What I see there is that most recent supported Ubuntu version for the server is Ubuntu Server LTS 20.04 or later Ubuntu Server LTS 20.04 levels.

Subject: Spectrum Protect server install fails on Ubuntu, libstdc++6 version
Hi,
I am trying to install Spectrum Protect server 8.1.18.20230301_1734 on Ubuntu linux version 22.04.2 LTS. Using ./install.sh -c gives the errors
* [ERROR] IBM Spectrum Protect server 8.1.18.20230301_1734 contains validation errors.
1. ERROR: libstdc++6:amd64 is at version 6.0.30 but must be at version 6.0.21 or higher.
[ERROR] IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center 8.1.18000.20230224_0625 contains validation errors.
2. ERROR: The operating system on which you are installing the product is not supported. For more information, see http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21243309.
Using ./install.sh -c -vmargs -DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true allows installation to proceed, but eventually Error 1 above causes the process to abort before finishing. The current version on my system 6.0.30 is higher than the required version. Any advice?
Thanks
