FCtool creates flashcopies on the other Hyperswap node than the source disk

    Hello,

we have a Hyperswap cluster and noticed that FCtool creates flashcopies on the other node than the source disk.
FCtool does not seem to have an option to change mkvdisk command to add proper node. This causes Hyperswap cluster to use internode communication and putting strain on the system's performance.

Is there a configuration option to have flashcopies created on same node please?

If not, we are thinking to create a custom script to adjust flashcopy LUNs' nodes to the same node as source LUN.
The script would run after every Flashcopy creation and run the following command on all newly created flashcopy LUNs, example:
    movevdisk -node 5 DSG_PRODNODE4_LOG4_FC1665982944581
movevdisk -node 5 DSG_PRODNODE4_LOG4_FC1665982944581 <<- movevdisk -node(the same node as source LUN DSG_PRODNODE4_LOG4) DSG_PRODNODE4_LOG4_FC1665982944581(newly created flashcopy LUN)"

    Thank you,
    Pavel

    Hi Pavel,
please be so kind and send me the log file of this command, as well as your fctool.ini file, I will have a look. Thanks, Markus

    Hello Markus,

thank you for your explanation you sent me in our mail exchange.

Let me share your answer if others will be dealing with the same issue:
The cmd mkvdisk has an optional parameter fctool does not use: -node
It is possible to add these parameter to fctool, to do so this requires a service contract in place with you/your customer and ESCC

    Have a nice day
    Pavel
