FYI - you need to increase the threshold alert level or you won't get the notification again, pool threshold alerts only trigger once the thresold is past, it's not tiered threshold levels, so you'd need to reset to say 85% to get alerts again and not get a suprise when it hit 90%! Also the recommendation is not to fill above 85% as the system requires the space for other processes like garbade collection.

Yes, over the weekend my SGC_Pool went over 80%. I received an email with a subject line beginning with: 2076 Warning Event Notification (then the device name). Among many other things the body contained:
...
# Error ID = 989001 : Storage pool capacity warning
# Error Code = 1866 : Storage pool capacity warning
...
# Object Name = SGC_Pool

If either your physical or logical capacity is exhausted on the FCMs, the pool will be taken offline. This is best avoided. Storage Insights has very good alerting and Health Checker (available vi SI) is a fantastic way to predict consumption of both logical and physical capacity.

Hello Evelyn,
So, assuming that 100% of the physical capacity is used in an overprovisioned state, will the operating volumes be taken offline?

Hi Robert,
Usable capacity is one of two resources that you use for capacity, it is also known as physical capacity, and represents the amount of physical media you have to use after RAID. So in that sense, yes, you are only using 14 out of the 108TiB of capacity present on this system.
The other capacity details are your logical capacity amounts also known as addressable capacity and includes the overprovisioning/compression capability of your drives. You are using 58/324TiB of this resource (about 18%).
I hope that helps.
