 We have IBM fs9100 (model 9848-AF7) and IBM fs7300 (model 4657-924) and we are using policy based replication with  RPO set to  5 min so are they any option to setup alert if RPO goes beyond 5 minutes for  how long RPO was out of policy ?

Hello Hemant,

An alert is automatically triggered when RPO is exceeding the set value. You can use the "lsvolumegroupreplication <volgroupID>" command to display the details of the volume group status.

To set up alerts for when RPO exceeds 5 minutes on IBM fs9100 and fs7300, you can use IBM Spectrum Control or IBM Storage Insights. Here's a brief guide:

IBM Spectrum Control

1. Log in to the console.
2. Create a Custom Alert:
   • Set criteria for RPO > 5 minutes.
   • Configure how long RPO should be out of policy before alerting.
3. Set Notification options (email, SNMP).
4. Save and Activate the alert.

IBM Storage Insights

1. Log in to your account.
2. Create an Alert:
   • Set conditions for RPO > 5 minutes.
   • Specify the duration before triggering the alert.
3. Configure Notifications (email, SMS).
4. Save and Activate the alert.

For CLI:

1. Script Monitoring: Use CLI commands to check RPO status periodically.

Hi TEAM,

As of now there is not Alert notification from storage Insight for RPO violation so I have open request for enhancement to the Storage Insight TEAM.
