IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager

IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager (GKLM), formerly known as Security Key Lifecycle Manager (SKLM), centralizes, simplifies and automates the encryption key management process to help protect encrypted data and simplify encryption key management.

GKLM is the predominant key management solution for all storage products sold by IBM and is the recommended key management solution for Db2.

On December 8, 2020, the release of GKLM version 4.1 will be generally available. This new release offers new container deployments on Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and zCX (IBM z/OS container extensions).

Additional capability enhancements include:

  • PostgreSQL database support for GKLM containers
  • WAS Liberty support for GKLM containers
  • UI for user management for GKLM containers
  • Multi-Master enhancements for traditional GKLM
  • Additional performance and serviceability improvements for GKLM containers and traditional GKLM

Containerized GKLM offers customers additional deployment flexibility as they look to modernize their IT infrastructure. GKLM containers can be deployed in less than a minute – a vast improvement compared to the traditional deployment options.
