IBM Host Configuration Assistant for Z Development 3.8 has been released.
In this release, support is added for IBM Test Accelerator for Z, which offers a method to record the interactions of a program-under-test with subsystems and other programs, and later use that recording to allow the program to be tested without the subsystems or other programs to be present.
IBM Test Accelerator for Z requires one of the following products:
- IBM Application Delivery Foundation for z/OS
- IBM Developer for z/OS Enterprise Edition
- IBM Developer for z/OS
z/OS Debugger needs to be configured to enable recording and replaying functions.
Below is the process about how to configure host components to enable IBM Test Accelerator for Z.
- Select product IBM Test Accelerator for Z, z/OS Debugger is selected. z/OS Explorer is selected automatically because it is the dependency of z/OS Debugger. If z/OS Explorer is not required, you can deselect it.
- Select the features for z/OS Debugger. The mandatory task is selected by default. You can select whether to configure for IMS or CICS.
- After you select features for the components, complete feature selection to generate the report. By default, this report is sent to you. You can specify another email address to send the report to. This report will be available within the tool, and the PDF is also sent in an email.
- View the report and complete configuration tasks.
- If you want more details, you can click links to open the topics in IBM Docs.
- When you complete a step, you can check off so that your progress is memorized.
Please play with the tool and let us know should there be any comments or feedback.
