Great, @Curtis Browning, thank you.
I forgot to mention the details of my SPSS environment (in case this helps): SPSS 29.0.2.0 under MS Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 22H2.

Subject: GGRAPH issue with value labels of grouping variable
Hi @Frank Furter,
I was able to reproduce at least a part of this in-house (the -3 didn't use the assigned value label). The defect number for your reference is #7450. Thanks for reporting this.
Best regards,

Subject: GGRAPH issue with value labels of grouping variable
I have an ordinal variable that can take on seven different values (whole numbers) some of which are negative (range: -3 - 3). Each value has been assigned a value label. When I use this variable as a grouping variable in GGRAPH (the variable that goes into the legend and determines the color / style of the lines / bars / segments), the legend shows the assigned value labels for categories 0 through maximum but not for negative values; for these, only the numbers are shown. GRAPH and tabulating procedures process the value labels correctly.
Has this been reported before as a bug?
