    Hi,

    In the overview of all databases the fly over display of the indicators is sometimes sized too small according to the size needed for the labels of the y-axis.

    Cheers

    Hello Roland,

    perhaps you have an incompatible browser. Use Chrome or Edge:

    This is the DMC 3.1.2 Prerequisite for Web Browser

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,

    I'm using a rather new install of Firefox. Maybe I'll try the same with Chrome in the next days.
    But I guess, it is also the size of the datafield. I had three digit numbers in the y-axis and maybe that's more than the developer expected.

    Cheers
    Roland

    Hi Roland,

    Have you had chance to try it? Today we did some tests internally on firefox and other browser, but we didn't reproduce the display issue in our env. If you can reproduce it, could you please let us know the browser version/build as well as the screenshot? It would be more helpful if you could provide the UI comparison of different browsers (e.g., firefox and chrome). Thanks in advance!

    Hi Kai Ding,

    it's a Firefox 79.0 running under Windows Server.

    It is a rather locked down customer scenario, where not much changes are allowed. At the moment I cannot even access the prod database with DMC anymore, as almost immediately after the start of the Console the accessibility of this database flips from green to red and DMC reports a connection error.

    However in the background it seems that some connection to this database are still running. Also I can access a clone of this database, which is under less load.

    I was not able to introduce the storage group nor make any changes in the configuration. It is really sad, that DMC does not default to the tablespace the connection user has use right in.
    There should be a kind of dmc-prereqcheck query, which you can run against the database, telling you, what parts will run or what needs to be done to fix it. I noticed also, if the user connecting to the database is lacking some rights for some stored procedures, it ends up with long exceptions in the logs, but are not reported in the GUI.

    Back to our problem here: I noticed the cut-off of the column with a very high throughput (something like 120 MB/s), which is probably not so common. But as I cannot access the database with DMC right now, I cannot verify it with another browser.

    Kind regards
    Roland

    Hi Roland,

    Thanks for your comments! It seems the DB is getting connection issue. Though from the description I'm not very clear what's wrong, I think we can do the followings:

    1) For connection accessibility, Please try "Test connection" button in the "connection profile" page to make sure the DB is accessible and the ID/password are correct;

    2) For exception log VS. missing UI message, could you please provide more details? so that we can investigate and improve the user experience;

    3) For the prereqcheck suggestion, it would be helpful to improve user experience, and your detailed suggestions are welcome;

    4) Back to the y-axis label issue, we'll keep investigating based on your comments (Firefox 79.0 running under Windows Server, throughput value like 120 MB/s). Meanwhile it would be helpful if you can reproduce the issue and let us know. thanks!

    Hi Kai Ding,
    I treid today the same with a fresh installe of Google Chome Browser V 85.0.4183.83 (64 bit), running under Windows 2012 R2 Server, accessed remotly via mstsc session. The backend database is Db2 11.1.4.5

    Same result, independent of interface language in Chrome (German and English).

    and 104.9 k are small enough:

    Maybe 203.6 M/min are just too high!  ;-)

    Cheers
    Roland

    Hi Roland,

    Console dev is now able to reproduce the issue in internal env, and would fix it in the next DMC release. There is a git issue to track it: https://github.ibm.com/tools-for-aps/zh/issues/20096

    Thanks again for bringing up this issue!
