    1. I use oncheck -pe datadbs1 ,I can find 9:1504860 used by  which table
    2. rename table tab1 to tab2;
    3. create table tab1;
    4. insert into tab1 select *  from tab2;
    5. ontape is ok
    ========================================================

    This problem often occurs. Why?

    I don't think you have provided enough information to diagnose the problem.

    Two possibilities though:
    1. actual disk corruption due to failing hardware.
    2. Informix defect.

    Given you are running 11.10.FC2 which is long out of support and I don't remember Informix 11.10 fondly at all, I would suspect a defect.

    Hi,

    After the insert do you drop tab2? You need to drop the corrupt object.

    Are there any storage errors anywhere in the storage stack?

    Or machine cpu/memory issues?

    If not it would be an Informix defect and require an upgrade.

    insert into tab1 select *  from tab2
    drop table tab2;
    ontape is ok.

    I'm not very familiar with how to detect operating system logs on AIX
