I have uploaded new releases of my utils2_ak and myexport packages on my web site (

Here are the highlights:
Myschema adds a new option, --myexport-binary, that produces unload and load scripts that use EXTERNAL TABLES to unload data in INFORMIX binary format and load that binary data using EXTERNAL TABLES in EXPRESS mode with the target table set to type( RAW ) during the load. Except for tables that contain mostly numeric columns that contain small values (so the their text image is smaller than their binary footprint) binary mode is at least as fast (about the same for purely text tables) and up to 2.5x faster to load than DELIMITED data! Unloads are nearly always 2-3x faster in INFORMIX mode.
Myexport adds the -B option to perform full database exports in binary INFORMIX mode using external tables. Myimport will automatically recognize and load the myexport -B output files.
