Well it's not dead yet. CentOS 7 is supported until June 30th 2024. If CentOS 7 meets your needs you could sit tight for a while and see how the market for a stable, free, non-bleeding edge distro. develops.
It is only CentOS 8 which has an imminent and sudden end of life date (Dec 31st 2021) and which presents an urgent situation if you need security patches in the future.
I am aware RHEL 7 / CentOS 7 is not an option for AMD EPYC Zen3 (Milan) CPUs.
If you go by the official stance for Informix v14.10 (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/informix-server-system-requirements) your non-RHEL or CentOS options are:
SLES v12 or v15
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 17.10, 18.04 LTS or 20.04 LTS
I would restrict any choice I made on this to one of these options.
Given CentOS 8's early EOL, it would be good if HCL or IBM could make a recommendation about support for the RHEL 8 clones mentioned already in this thread, RockyLinux or AlmaLinux.
Ben.

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to the Linux users among you as to which distribution(s) you're using to run Informix and how happy you are with them. Given the death of CentOS, I'm weighing alternatives.
