New in Version 6

The addition of newer versions of the Db2 products means additional SQL features are now included.

The major new features covered in this book include:

  • aggregation-specification in an OLAP specification

    • Cast Scalar Functions: BINARY and VARBINARY
    • Datetime Scalar Functions: DAYOFMONTH
    • Miscellaneous Scalar Functions: WRAP
    • String Scalar Functions: LOCATE_IN_STRING and OVERLAY
    • Miscellaneous Scalar function enhancements
  • Procedures: XSR_ADDSCHEMADOC, XSR_COMPLETE, and XSR_REGISTER
  • System-period temporal tables
  • CURRENT TEMPORAL SYSTEM_TIME
  • ALTER TABLE PERIOD clause
