    Is it possible to run the 505 (9115-505) as a standalone server, or does it require an HMC or IVM? I need to make sure before I recommend one, and I can't find a clear answer in the documentation. I'm pretty sure the higher end models (595, etc.) require an HMC, but I don't know about the lower-end models. If there's a cheat sheet somewhere I haven't found yet, that would be helpful, too.

    Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. Full system partition will be fine, LPARs are probably a bit much for this particular customer and their needs.

    For System P Low-End or entry models like 550, 520, 510 & 505 it´s posible and recommended for full partitions and if you need to vitualize without an HMC you can use the IVM.
