That is correct.
Within the same storage, you can run the flashcopy target on any Power system that is attached to that storage. You can also leverage IBM storage replication to take the flashcopy on the replication target in most cases.

It integrates with Tape very well. That is what it is built to do.
The Full System Flash Copy toolkit integrates with BRMS to retain all of your backup history. It makes the backups on the target Flash Copy partition and then transfers the BRMS data back to the source partition so you have a full record of what was backed up on the source partition.
