    I normally try to write articles focused on IBM i, but in this case, there really isn't any difference between IBM i, AIX, and Linux.All partitions (especially VIOS) should follow the same rules.

    Great blog post - and thanks for writing the Vios4i blog!

    VIOS is so different from IBM i and is often mostly configured during server upgrades/replacements, and most IBM i people will never get confident in VIOS operations. So any blog or other ressource to educate us IBM i folks is much appreciated. :-)

    The enhanced GUI is missing one important thing: a red persistent warning when automatic saving of configuration changes has been switched off when you are making a change. It got switched off because someone edited the profile directly. You will happily keep on making changes using the enhanced GUI - only to lose all changes at next downtime. Especially annoying when virtual FC adapters are lost, and you have to recreate them and update the zoning and host definitions on the storage.
