  • 1.  Monitoring Cloud Infrastructure

I am working as a Solution Architect in the System Integration Area under OSS Assurance for past 10 years. I would like to know how we monitor cloud infrastructure from a Fault management perspective, and how do we do alarms correlations in virtual networks where things keep on changing dynamically?

To an extent it depends on what the cloud infrastructure is. If the cloud environment supports a webhook API then the OMNIbus message bus probe has support for receiving events via a webhook: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSSHTQ/omnibus/probes/message_bus/wip/reference/messbuspr_enable_webhook_integration.html

For dealing with dynamic topology changes, have a look at Agile Service Manager. As well as providing capabilities that allow you to visualise the current topology of the environment, it supports topology change history. Events (& other data) can be used to augment the topology, for example, enabling you to visualise what the environment looked like before and after the event occurred.
