    I just provisioned a new VMWare image and I'm not sure how to access it. It has public and private IPs but the public IPs don't respond to ping. Thanks

    Public IP addresses are allocated for your hosts but are not configured in ESXi. Generally speaking the hosts themselves are not expected to be addressable on the public network, but their public interfaces are active and provide public access to workloads running on the hosts.
