    Thanks for joining the Watson Knowledge Catalog group within the DataOps Community - we hope it provides a useful and informative space where you can connect with your peers and experts about the solutions you use.
    I wanted to go over some basics to help you get the most out of this community. Please feel free to post any questions either on the discussion boards.
    Join different groups within the community
    Within the DataOps Community architecture, there are multiple sub-communities labeled "groups". These help organize the conversations surrounding different topics and products areas, to  make the discussions and resources easier to find within each area.
    Currently we have 8 groups -
    • Watson Knowledge Catalog - Data Governance & Quality
    • Data Replication
    • DataStage - Data Integration
    • Global DataOps (where this blog is posted)
    • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
    • MDM
    • Optim
    • StoredIQ
    We are working to build out and add other product areas throughout 2020 - stay tuned. We like to take your feedback into consideration to provide the best experience possible, so please let us know which topics/product areas you'd like to be their own group if you have ideas.



    Select what groups you want to join from the drop downs at the top of the page or from the options on the main page.
    Site features
    • The discussion forums are your place to ask questions of your peers and IBM subject matter experts to share best practices and to learn from each other.
    • The library is for resources like presentations, webinars, and other content such as whitepapers and documents. Please make sure it is relevant to the group, that it's not an advertisement, and that you have the rights to share it. Send a note to kekupec@us.ibm.com if you're unsure.
    • In blogs, read about the latest features and functionality from our top subject matter experts and experienced product users. If you are interested in submitting a blog, please reach out to me. Keep in mind all blogs are subject to review to ensure relevancy.
    • Look at the events tab to see what's coming up - from in person events and virtual user groups to webinars and more.
    Notifications
    And lastly - turn on notifications in your profile so you stay up-to-date on what conversations and new stuff happens in the community. You can set up to get emailed in real-time, daily, and weekly, or a combination. Real-time will only be for discussion posts and resource entries, and is great if you want to stay in the loop about a question you posted. Daily and weekly e-mails will give a recap of the discussions, events, and resource posts. If you're in multiple groups you can select different notification options by group.
    To edit, go to My Account > Group Notifications and select your presences by group! Below I have selected different communication options for the different groups. For some groups, I get a daily digest of discussion posts, plus consolidated digests of everything else that's going on (events, webinars, new files). For other groups I have real-time notifications, so I stay up to date on what's being posted!
