    HI All,

What are the best rollback options for optim insert and load requests, particularly with oracle data source.

is there a way, we can rollback the data, once the insert or load requests are completed successfully without help of DBA but using Optim tool itself?

    Hey RG,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'best rollback options' for Inserts and Loads since you are running these processes to ideally complete successfully? A Rollback will just undo any DB changes made since the last commit point and will not necessarily undo all the changes applied. If your intent is to set the DB back to how it looked at a certain point in time, then you could use Optim to create an extract file against the DB that becomes your baseline/gold copy. After testing or other changes are made against the DB, you just re-load that gold copy and the DB is back to how it looked originally. Hope that helps...

Thanks Keith. i was able to achieve rollback by performing pre-extract and post delete. Thanks for your inputs
