Hey RG,
We were hoping you would attend the meeting to be part of the discussion. As Jimmy mentioned, there is nothing out of the box to allow for parametrized variables in a Column Map definition.
One workaround that was brought up which may work for you is to employ the export/import utilities for Optim objects. You could export your CM definition to a text file, change the variable value you are concerned with, and then import that revised CM definition to overwrite the existing CM. Not the prettiest option, but it may work for what you want to achieve.
Hope this helps.

RG,
This was discussed in the OVUG meeting this week with no real response.
The Optim documentation does not provide any reference to a variable that could be passed to the convert CMP process.
From the online documentation, here are the options available for convert overrides:

Hey Keith,
This is a how-to question.
We were able to pass the parameters for the variables defined on access definition from PR0CMND.
But I don't see an option to pass the parameters into column map procedure from PR0CMND. i see there is an option to pass parameter from Designer UI but not from Pr0CMND. I couldn't find any details in the documentation as well. I feel this is one of the most common use case which should be available for masking.
hope i will get an answer for this.

It's that time again to gather ideas for the Panel Discussion segment of our quarterly OVUG meeting coming up on March 12.
Please post ideas or questions as replies in this thread that you would like the Optim User Panel to discuss during the meeting. This is your opportunity to have your questions addressed by multiple panel members whom have years of experience with the software.
Topics can be best practices, installing or upgrading Optim, how-to, etc., so let's get this conversation going!
Thank you for your participation and input.
