  • 1.  Syncing data using cdr sync

    Posted Thu February 22, 2024 10:52 AM

Hello, I need to clarify how to use cdr sync

    • cdr sync sends always ALL rows and apply them on target using conflict resolution Alway - to speed up we can truncate target table, in order to not update existing rows by sync process
    • can we use normal transaction activities during the cdr sync? - how to avoid sync process overwriting change which  happened after row is read by sync process in scenario:
1.row is read by sync and it is putted directly into send queue together with other rows read by sync process
2.the same row is changed by application later but this app txn is committed BEFORE sync trans is committed
In what order are those 2 transactions (application and sync) applied on target?

      Thank you

I have never had a issue with using sync on live systems and getting trans lost.  I have always assume the 'live' transactions are delayed but..... never looked

Should of added, I tend to avoid very large syncs during busy times

    Thank you Paul,

good experience, relation of sync and live txn is not clearly documented. Sufficient number of logical logs, CDR_QDATA_SBSPACE a SHM would be a must as well for syncing big databases.

    HI,

Can someone give a quick decription of the differences between cdr sync and cdr repair  especially with many active transaction happening at the same time?

    Regards,
    David.
