  • 1.  Guide for Server Specification Calculation

    Hi,  my name is Ryan. I'm still  inexperience on Informix and would like to get some advice on Server Specification Calculation Guidelines.
    Here's some details furnished by the Development team :
     
    Environment : Virtualised Environment
    Database Size : 2 TB with estimated up to 8 TB growth in fifth year after deployment.
    Estimated Concurrent Users : 7,000 
     
    May I know 
    i) what are other metrics that I need to gather to estimate the Server Specification 
    ii) Anyone can share the calculation formula to generate the spec ?

    Go to my web site and download the ratios package. It contains a set of stored procedures to install in sysmaster and a shell script, new_ratios.ksh, that calls them and formats a report. That includes the major quick look metrics to determine general server health.
