Db2

Hello community, 

I had a problem with configuration of backups on TSM.  I installed TSM client and configured it. The DB2 backup are sent on TSM, but when client tries to archive logs, it hits TSM  error code=186. ( DSM_RC_TL_NOACG The management class for this file does not have a valid archive copy group. This file will not be archived.)

On DB2 site i configured:

LOGARCHMET1 = TSM:ARCHIVE log CLASS

TSM_MGMTCLASS = BACKUP MGMT class

and I still hit this error.

What may be the problem ?

I assume the TSM environment variables are correctly set on your server?

DSMI_CONFIG=C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\BACLIENT\xxx.OPT
DSMI_DIR=C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tivoli\TSM\API64
DSMI_LOG=C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tivoli\TSM\API64

We are using only LOGARCHMETH1 = TSM and these INCLUDES in the TSM optfile:

INCLUDE *:\...\*                name of your backup management class
INCLUDE *:\...\*.LOG        name of your archive log class
