Db2 for z/OS and its ecosystem

IBM Db2 AI for z/OS 1.5.0 plus APAR PH53097 (June, 2023) delivers significant new business value, along with an improved user experience. 

New features introduced in APAR PH53097 include:

• An enhanced Db2ZAI SQL optimization function, with various improvements to the SQL optimization dashboard, including new SQL optimization settings that allow greater flexibility in tailoring your environment.
  • Introduces a “weighted” access path performance comparison that combines CPU and elapsed times into a “weighted” metric.
    • Useful for determining whether an access path regression has occurred.
    • Gives you greater control and balance over which metric (CPU or elapsed time) has greater importance in determining access path performance.
      
      

• Enhanced SQL optimization graphs that make it easy to see access path changes and associated performance changes, including:
  • An enhanced SQL optimization details page, with:
    • A new access path comparison detail section.
    • An improved access path history table, which links to a new access path comparison detail section.
    • An improved access path performance graph that makes it much easier and faster to spot performance issues.
  • New sorting options for both the package list and statement list.
