  • 1.  ESXi Firmware Upgrade

    We are new to IBM cloud. We have a VMware environment and we need to upgrade the Firmware of the Physical hosts through the IBM Cloud portal. Is there a document that explains the process? If someone can list down the steps, that would be helpful.

    In additions to Stephanie's comments and the link, there is also another Docs link for IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions as below:

    What's found under Deployment offerings, they are all dedicated (physical hosts) aside from VMware Solutions Shared.  For minor version upgrades of ESXi firmware (i.e. from 6.5 to 6.7, etc.), most likely we can accommodate the firmware upgrades, whereas when you need to do a major upgrade (i.e. from 6.x to 7.x, etc.), you need to check in the catalog whether the hardware specifications are already VMware certified.  IBM Cloud go through rigorous hardware certification process with VMware for each component.
