  • 1.  PAW Local - Docker/Podman - More than 1 instance in same ServerHost

    Posted Wed September 28, 2022 10:11 AM
    Hello,
Is possible to install more than 1 instance of Docker PAW on the same ServerHost?
We need  and DEV/PRD environment of PAW and I would like to install both at the same Server.

It is possible? How can I do this?

    Thanks!

    Any update?
Is it mandatory to use a PAW instance for each ServerHost or can I instantiate more than 1 PAW instance on the same ServerHost?

    Thanks!

As invasive as Docket is for PAW as I've setup all of my environments (DEV, UAT, DR, PROD), i cannot envision that you could or even want 2 instances of Docker running on the same box....

Since you are putting all your resources on the same box why not simply put 2 IBMPA/Tm1 instances of Dev/Prd and use the same instance of PAW with respective folders to determine Dev/Prd files?

    Hello @Shahhere
    Thanks for your response!
I have differents TM1 Servers running on DEV/PROD TM1Hosts. I need to use PAW pointing out to this TM1 Servers. I believe it is no possible to point the same PAW to more than 1 TM1ServerHost, right?

    Thanks!

    Hello Paulo,

You can point to both DEV/PROD.

    From PAW adminTool
Example: https://TM1Location.example.com:5898 (use the TM1 REST API port number: http://...5895 or https://...5898). Separate multiple TM1 Admin Server URIs with a semi-colon (;).

Add both servers in TM1 Admin Server URI: https://<YOUR.DEVSERVER>:5898;https://<YOUR.PRODSERVER>:5898>

    Hope this helps

    Best Regards

    Mikael

    A:
Yes, it is possible, you can point a PAW instance to multiple TM1 Admin Hosts, see the product documentation:

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=local-connect-tm1-authentication-servers
Connect to TM1 and authentication servers

You must use the Planning Analytics Workspace administration tool to configure the TM1 URIs that point to the TM1 servers and authentication servers.

    Procedure

    1. In the Planning Analytics Workspace administration tool on the Configuration tab, enter the following server URIs:
        TM1 Admin Server URI
You can specify multiple URIs. Separate each entry by a semi-colon. This is useful if your system has redundant TM1 Admin Hosts or you have groups of servers managed by different Admin Hosts.
