missing query and page explorer drop down option in navigation menu

    Hi, I have been having this issue where I cannot navigate to the query explorer (option doesn't show) to create joins nor am i presented with the option to create a new page for my report. I am not sure if something in settings was changed but I am not seeing an option to toggle on and off this feat. Any suggestions? 

    here is what my nav menu looks like as of now.

    Morning,

    could it be that your Cognos admin has reduced your capabilities of your user role?
    See Manage/People/Accounts then select your user role and select Properties/Customization/Features:

    It could be that your capabilities / permissions have changed so check with your admin on that. Personally I see this kind of thing all the time in both dashboards and in reporting i.e. menu's, options etc. intermittently disappearing. Try clearing your browser cache, that normally works for me. You could also try using a different browser. I find that Cognos runs better in Chrome vs. Edge.
