Thank you for your response. It was actually a simple table layout with labels and corresponding data fields. I was able to resolve this issue by simply unlocking the page contents on top right side corner.

can you post what kind of element type this is? Looks like nested lists/crosstabs or maybe repeater tables. You can see that on the right pane when you've selected the element:
MY first guess is that this is a layout component reference cause it should be possible to edit single elements of a crosstab or repeater table.

Hello,
I am new to Cognos. As part of learning the tool, I was trying to edit a report. This report contains a sub-section of Labels and it's respective values. I am trying to edit the content under those labels, but the entire sub-section gets selected and I am unable to edit the individual labels in the sub-section.
I am posting a screen shot of what I am trying to do. Below, you will find the labels highlighted in Yellow, that I am trying to edit. But the selections is being always made on the entire section of the table and doesn't allow me to select specific label names as such.
I would appreciate any help in pointing me towards right direction.
