Hey Chris - Yes, the console will display but when I run an audit, even just a content audit of a single folder, the console hangs on the spinning hour glass. When I run the "Audit Run" report, I get a message saying "audit failed - contact support..." the logs do have some failure messages but nothing definitive as to the cause of the issue. I have a PMR opened with support currently and will post back here with what I find out.

What do you mean with "The Interface does display" ? What Interface are you refering to ?
In my environment, I also face issues, but I don't get to pass the Cognos Audit Extension Console with success right now.
And I don't know where to search futher (what kind of log file should I look into...)

We completed an in place upgrade of our DEV environment from CA v11.0.7 to CA 11.1.7 and found that the Cognos Audit extension was no longer functional. The interface does does display but any attempt to execute and audit run will fail. I have tried resetting data connections, regenerating the keystore file, and uninstalling and reinstalling the entire extension but have not been able to get an audit to run. Has anyone else had issues with the Audit Extension after upgrading?
