  • 1.  Calendar (date) widget in Cognos dashboards

    Hi,
    Is there any chance and how to import calendar (date) widget in Cognos dashboards  similar to those date prompt in Cognos Report studio. I have requirements to show date dimension on dashboards, by default it is very unfriendly  for user to choose particular date, every time need to search, and also the big problem is to choose period of time. Now this is not possible, or I do not know how to make that in dashboard?

    @Veljko You can add the date filter to the canvas to make it easier for users to switch between dates. Attached screenshot.

    @Veljko Are you using a Framework Manager package, Data Module or Excel file as the source? The column will need to be defined as date in the source.

    You could create a separate date/calendar dimension and join that in the model. In this dimension you should have attributes like year, month, week, day, etc. These attributes can be used in a filter or a (cascading) list to filter out certain periods. In this way the user does not need to select a period based on start-/end date
