    Hi

     

    A user can change the way books are sorted  when he logs in PAW but  Is there a way to have books sorted A-Z by default instead of last update ?

    Hi fred, unfortunately not. There is an enhancement request and I have asked IBM several times about it. The only answer I get is that is is in the backlog, timeline unclear. 

    I can't really understand why IBM is not taking action on such suggestions for improvement (another thing is a "close all open books" function as well as "search in subfolders").

    They might not seem so important but I actually disagree. My experience is that users are more forgiving if complex functionality is not available but if such basic functions are missing, unsers get annoyed. In this case it is an uncessary click which users have to do everytime they log in. 

    Let's hope it will be adressed soon.

    Hi Fred and Mario, 

    Our internal teams view all enhancements very seriously. We do have a roadmap which is a continuous delivery of features and functionalities. We deliver a new PAW version approximately every 4 weeks. This particular enhancement which you're discussing has been brought up in the past. 
    For now there's other enhancements which may help you like the ability to create groups in PAW.

    I wanted to include an event that our Offering Management and Program Director for Planning Analytics hold regularly. It's an "Ask Me Anything about IBM Planning Analytics for Customers" session.  It may help.

    Fred and Mario,

    I just want to mention that we haven't forgotten about any of these feature request (sort, search, and close all books).  My team agrees that these features would be beneficial to the end user experience.   As Robert mentioned, we are releasing updates for Workspace every 4 weeks.   We evaluate (or reevaluate) the priority of enhancements requests and defects at the start of this four week cycle. 

    The Planning Analytics team is currently planning a user interface overhaul for Workspace.  I will confirm if these features are being considered in the new user interface, and if we can do any of these in the short term.

    Thank you for the answers. A user interface overhaul for PAW sounds interesting and exciting. I really do hope that those features will be part of it, would be great if you could push for it. Many users are wondering why these features are missing, especially the sort and close all books features.
