    Hi,

    We have install cognos on linux RHEL 7 and try to configure SQL server native client datasource connection.

    Since we are CQM based model.

    SQL server version is 2017 and everythign works fine from cognos installed in windows.

    From linux we are unable to test CQM using sql native client or ODBC, JDBC working fine.

    Could you please help me ASAP on how to solve this? We are in very critical situation now.

    Native client is only supported on Windows.

    With DQM you would use MS JDBC driver.

    The ideal situation is to convert packages to DQM,

    If that is not feasible and you are using Cognos 10, then there is a product called Cognos Virtual View Manager that could help.

    We can't migrate to DQM. we are on cognos 11.1.2

    So any way we can create CQM connection?

    If your RHEL 7 Server is already configured to Connect to an MSSQL Database Using ODBC drivers and that did not help. then maybe you could try calling IBM and see if VVM would work with Cognos 11!!

    Hi Richard,

    We haven't conigured the ODBC and we just installed the msodbcsql17-17.4.2.1-1.x86_64.rpm package on Linux. SQL Server 2017 DB is on windows.

    could you please let us know what additional steps need to be taken to configure ODBC on linux ? 

    I searched different sources and nothing helped me.

    Hi @Richard Mabjish

    This also comes as 64 bit library only not with 32 bit. We got same error even using FreeTDS. Any other options?
